THE FULL STORY

From Syracuse to the Hall of Fame to Helping Families Like Yours

AS A PLAYER

I grew up playing lacrosse and fell in love with the game early. By the time I got to Syracuse University, I knew I wanted to play at the highest level.

At Syracuse, I was a 4x All-American and helped lead the team to two National Championships (1993 & 1995). Those years taught me what it takes to compete at an elite level—and what college coaches look for in recruits.

After college, I played professionally in both the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Major League Lacrosse (MLL). I was a 1st Team All-Pro with the New York Saints and won three World Championships with the Philadelphia Barrage.

I spent over a decade competing against the best players in the world, and in recognition of my career, I was inducted into both the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Professional Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

AS A COACH

After my playing career, I transitioned into coaching. I spent years coaching at the high school level, where I guided hundreds of players through the recruiting process as the 3x State Championship Head Coach at Ridgefield High School (CT). I saw firsthand what worked, what didn't, and how families navigated (or struggled with) the process.

I also had the privilege of coaching at the professional level as Head Coach of the Carolina Chaos in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). Coaching at that level gave me an even deeper understanding of what separates good players from great ones—and how the recruiting process works from the coach's perspective.

Additionally, I served as Assistant Coach for Team USA (Indoor), helping the team win the first-ever silver medal in international indoor competition.

I also ran one of the largest club programs in the Northeast — Superstar Lacrosse, which at its peak in 2017 included 17 teams under one umbrella.

Through all of this, I built relationships with college coaches at every level—D1, D2, D3, and Ivy League. Those relationships continue today, and they inform everything I teach families about recruiting.

AS A PARENT

The most important coaching I've ever done was with my own three sons.

All three played lacrosse at a high level, and I guided each of them through the recruiting process. It wasn't easy—even with all my experience, I felt the stress and uncertainty that every parent feels.

But we did it right. All three committed to elite Division 1 programs:

  • Ryan - University of Virginia

  • Kyle - Duke University

  • Christopher - University of North Carolina (commit)

All three earned significant athletic scholarships to play at top ACC programs.

Watching them succeed—and knowing I helped them navigate the process—was one of the proudest moments of my life.

And it's what inspired me to start RC3 Lacrosse: to help other families avoid the mistakes, stress, and missed opportunities that so many families experience.

AS A MENTOR

Today, I'm focused on helping families navigate the recruiting process with clarity, confidence, and realistic expectations.

I'm not a recruiting service that overpromises and overcharges. I'm a coach, a parent, and someone who's been on every side of this process—and I want to share what I've learned so your family doesn't have to figure it out the hard way.

WHY I built RC3 LACROSSE

After guiding hundreds of players through recruiting—and navigating it with my own three sons—I kept seeing the same problems over and over:

❌ Families starting too late

❌ Families relying on club directors who were focused elsewhere

❌ Families overpaying for recruiting services that overpromised

❌ Families making avoidable mistakes that cost their sons opportunities

I realized that most families don't need a full-service recruiting agency. They need education, clarity, and a roadmap.

They need to know:

  • What to do and when

  • What coaches actually look for

  • How to avoid the common mistakes

  • How to navigate the process without wasting time or money

That's why I built The Recruiting Roadmap, the Monthly Zoom Calls, and the Private Group Sessions.

I want to give families the knowledge and confidence to navigate recruiting on their own terms—with expert guidance from someone who's been on every side of the process.
